​Punching

Punching is something very important in Growtopia. It allows you to break stuff and push another player away. Punching is done by taping anywhere on the screen or by touching the button on the far right of the screen. When punching in a locked area, you can't break anything. But when you punch in a world that isn't locked, you can break stuff and get seeds, items and gems. 



Locked Areas

An area is locked when someone wants to keep other players from breaking their stuff. A lock can be purchased in the store. (accessed by clicking on the red gem on the right side of the screen or opening up the menu and clicking store.) There are four types of locks: Small Lock (locks nine spaces), Big Lock (locks 50 spaces), Huge Lock(locks 200 spaces), and World Lock (Locks whole world)



Splicing

Splicing is when you put two seeds you obtain while breaking things together. There are many different combinations of seeds. Items get rarer and things take longer to grow as you splice together rarer items. For a full list, visit the Recipes Section on the Growtopia Wiki here.



Items and Clothing

Items are clothing are spliced by other seeds. There are a few exceptions such as dirt, rocks, lava, cave backgrounds and some event items. Items can be placed by first selecting the item, then tapping on the screen.  Clothing can be worn by tapping twice on the clothing your trying to wear.



Wrench

The wrench allows you to edit the prorperties of items that you can edit. For example, you can close a House Entrance to the public, or open it to the public. You can also use the wrench on yourself to see all the worlds you have world locked. If you use your wrench on another player, you can see the trade option. This opens the trade menu. If you have a world lock placed, you can also ban them from your world, pull them towards where you are, or kick them back to the entrance of the world.



Gems

Gems are used to purchase stuff from the store. You could purchase an item pack or a lock from there. Gems can be obtained in four different ways:

1. Breaking items and trees. 

2. Recycling stuff when you get the 'recycle' option after a gem purchase.

3. Gem Purchase. You can purchase Gems from the store for some money.

4. Tapjoy. This option is found in the store too.
